Ok, i just got my quick charger this morning and thought, hey, may as well let people on the blog know about it, so here i am.
Opening it i discovered that it is insanely small, i mean, good non-linear usb chargers generally are but, this thing can do about 36W, plus it has dual ports, not that ill ever need to use them.
Ill note though that while its a 12v car charger, it does claim to work off 24v too which i dont think is too big a stretch given its using a step down converter already, but i did not test it since i dont have any 24v sockets, nor am i a truck driver (though i am licensed to :p).
As soon as i touched it my doubts about it given its small size and somewhat low price disappeared (under $20 + free shipping on ebay = about $12-15 for the seller, likely cost for them about $4-8)
The plastic is clearly a heat stress resistant plastic, and overall the build quality is high, better than even upper range chinese garbage, even though its in that price range.
So, first things first i had to see what it could do. My phone im using is a Moto G4, it has a turbo charge mode which raises the input voltage to 9v, which i think means it is only a QC 2.0, the Tronsmart however is capable of 12v, or whatever is typical of QC 3.0, but i have no devices to confirm this with.
Attached are some pictures
There does not appear to be any performance difference in the tronsmart charger and the one supplied with my phone.
If i havent posted any warnings about overheating, its because over the next few weeks of use i have used the charger in my car fine and it did not generate concernable levels of heat.
Prior to turbo mode turning on the charge rate was almost 2A at 5V so, even if your device is non quick charge compatible its still a better charger than most.
