Practice disassembly
From time to time or more regularly ill give entries titles for the sake of the wordpress logs.
It occurred to me on an unrelated subject that I was concerning myself over the specifications of a raspberry pi to use in my car when I already had a junked netbook which besides the cracked screen worked fine and would work fine as a superior capable replacement that could be trusted with something data intensive like higher resolution dash cam use.
Anyway, removing the screen component of the laptop has left me with an LCD which similarly to my Wacom seems to be taped up and otherwise it just looks exactly the same. Im going to attempt to extract the backlight in this and hopefully the process wont be too different from the real thing, although I do already know that the screen uses an LED as I once tore apart the original, the current broken one being a replacement. So while it wont be the same, it should be informative just the same. Ill begin tomorrow morning as it is late. Tomorrow I should probably also continue with the process of dismantling the Wacom screen, although I am contemplating moving the monitor into the shed, as, while my desk is large, its becoming a bit cluttered and soon ill need to put pieces of the monitor in places. Either way this is a problem for tomorrow.
